Job description

You are a Mainframe Systems Engineer and want to contribute to major developments at CA-GIP. You will join the Mainframe Software Foundation team, responsible for the Mainframe software infrastructure within the Compute & Cloud Experience division.

The team provides all Mainframe software and maintains the reference system, including methods, procedures, tools, standards and SMP/E. Its administration and expertise activities focus on z/OS and related software, including schedulers, automation, outputs and monitoring.

The Mainframe Systems Engineer is responsible for the integrity and maintenance of the z/OS system supporting Group applications. The role covers z/OS and associated software, databases, Mainframe middleware, and Mainframe servers and storage.

  • Contribute to infrastructure projects, including the selection, definition and implementation of Mainframe environments and associated network architectures.
  • Administer Mainframe servers and ensure their operational maintenance.
  • Lead technical and functional developments.
  • Detect, handle and monitor domain alerts and incidents, including resolution, workaround implementation and eradication.
  • Provide direct support for all or part of a project.

Profile

You have higher education or training in computer science and 6 to 10 years of experience.

Required skills: z/OS networking (TPX, VTAM, SNA, RSA), product installation (SMP/E), PD Tools, z/OS UNIX System Services (USS), z/OS TSO/ISPF, technical project management, schedulers (TWS, IWS), and JCL.
