What is the Opportunity?

The Local Head of Finance of the branch in Singapore will lead the Accounting, Reporting & Change Team. The role owns Finance Regulatory, Statutory, Head Office and Tax reporting for Singapore entities, acts as a subject matter expert and Finance Business Partner for key local stakeholders, including Executive Committee members, and plays a key role in the strategy and management of the Singapore Finance function.

What will you do?

  • Act as validator, auditor and main point of contact for the local regulator.
  • Establish and maintain a working relationship with the local audit firm responsible for regulatory delivery.
  • Maintain the required knowledge of internal processes and reporting.
  • Lead financial control, tax and capital monitoring, and manage the local entity business plan.
  • Organize and manage daily operations for timely and accurate accounting reports, including trial balance, ledger, profit and loss account and balance sheet substantiation.
  • Attend monthly closing meetings with Head Office.
  • Manage the team to ensure reporting meets CACEIS and statutory requirements, including general ledger, balance sheet substantiation, consolidation packages, local regulatory surveys and declarations, and Finance and Tax submissions.
  • Lead the year-end audit and ensure financial statements are completed and submitted accurately and on time.
  • Lead accounting system changes where applicable and continuously monitor and implement process improvements that balance efficiency with key controls.
  • Review financial reports and attend meetings with stakeholders for financial presentations.
  • Enhance Singapore Finance business partnering capabilities in support of country and business strategies and transformation objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; a degree in Accounting and Finance is required.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA or CIMA is an advantage.
  • Six to ten years of experience.
  • Extensive experience in financial management, accounting, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Proven experience leading finance teams or projects.
  • Experience in financial analysis, reporting and compliance.
  • Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems.
  • Exposure to strategic financial planning and decision-making.
  • Strong project management and change skills.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge; VBA and SAS knowledge are advantages.
  • People management experience and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • English is mandatory; French is an asset.
