CACEIS is the asset servicing banking group of Crédit Agricole dedicated to asset managers and institutional investors. CACEIS Canada is looking for a Fund Accountant to join its Mutual Fund Accounting Team.
What will you do?
- Produce consistent and accurate prices for allocated funds, meeting tight deadlines within service level agreements.
- Manage feedback to and from departments contributing to NAV deliverables to ensure client deliverables and quality standards are met.
- Build strong working relationships with internal departments, including Quality Assurance, Shareholder Services, Transaction Management, Operations Control, Financial Reporting, Compliance and Information Technology.
- Ensure effective process controls are implemented and evolve them as necessary; escalate issues to management as appropriate.
- Monitor reporting flows in production, investigate functional anomalies and provide corrective actions or relevant justifications.
- Configure client requests for standard reporting and analyze requests for specific reports in coordination with sales teams.
- Coordinate related tasks carried out by other CACEIS teams.
- Manage recurring weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting cycles, including KPIs and outstanding settlements.
- Assist with reviewing and resolving cash and securities breaks by coordinating with relevant teams.
- Monitor and manage shared inboxes to ensure timely handling of client and internal queries.
About the role
You will work within a professional team responsible for client satisfaction, accurate fund valuations and optimal net asset value (NAV) production. Valuations are daily, weekly and monthly, and the role includes maintaining accurate records, identifying and mitigating business risk, meeting service-level agreements and audit and regulatory requirements, and ensuring proper distribution of accounting data to internal and external clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; bachelor's and/or master's degree in accounting or audit preferred.
- Investment accounting experience and working knowledge of GAAP/IFRS.
- Relevant experience in alternative investment fund administration or audit firms.
- Experience in fund accounting, pricing or client reporting within financial markets.
- Technical knowledge of fund products, fund accounting, systems and regulations.
- Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to process and apply new skills and concepts quickly.
- Analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- English language proficiency.
