Functional Design Architect (Thermal&Comfort) 功能设计架构师(热管理与舒适性)
Mercedes-Benz Group China Ltd.Shanghai, Xingchi Tower, No. 399, Keqiao Road, Jinqiao, Pudong, China (Hybrid)
Objective of job
Define, design, and evolve the thermal management and comfort domain system design for next-generation electrical/electronic systems. Design the EE control system to deliver the best user experience, safety, and security while balancing system complexity and cost, enabling software-defined vehicle capabilities through software/hardware decoupling and high abstraction.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify development trends, new technologies, and new features in the thermal management and comfort domain.
- Design EE control systems for powertrain, HV battery, air conditioning, HVAC, and related functions.
- Develop vehicle, powertrain, and HV system requirements into IO, signal and service, safety and security, diagnostic, function specification, and performance requirements.
- Lead cross-domain architecture reviews and decision-making.
- Collaborate with system architects, software teams, and ECU suppliers to ensure seamless integration.
- Lead troubleshooting in the thermal management and comfort domain to ensure timely and quality delivery.
- Contribute to the long-term E/E architecture roadmap.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in vehicle engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, telecommunications, or a related field.
Experience: 6+ years of experience in thermal management and comfort domain system or function design. Experience with OEMs or Tier-1 automotive suppliers is strongly preferred. Experience delivering thermal management and comfort domain designs in centralized EE architectures and SOA platforms is preferred.
Technical skills: Knowledge of powertrain and HV thermal management, cabin comfort functions, thermal control algorithms for BEV, HEV, REEV, and PHEV vehicles, ECU cooling requirements, cross-domain functions, SOA concepts, in-vehicle networks including CAN, LIN, and Ethernet, and EEA modeling tools such as PREEvision or EA. AUTOSAR knowledge is a plus.
Soft skills: Strong system-level thinking, an architectural mindset, excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills, the ability to work internationally and cross-culturally, and a problem-solving mindset with attention to detail. Fluent English is required; German is a plus.
