Financial Accounting Specialist

Objective

Manage monthly, half-yearly and annual closing of books of accounts, reporting under Ind AS and IFRS, coordination with statutory, regulatory and internal audits, submission of regulatory returns, monitoring internal control systems and ICOFR, and reconciliations.

Main Accountabilities

• Prepare and review balance sheets, profit and loss statements, schedules and financial statements under IFRS and Ind AS.
• Review monthly reporting inputs and maintain the chart of accounts according to headquarters guidelines.
• Prepare and submit regulatory and statutory returns, certifications, declarations and regulatory reports, including RBI-related information, Liquidity Coverage Ratios and CRAR.
• Support regulatory inspections and ensure applicable compliance items are completed on time.
• Prepare audit schedules, work with auditors, address audit observations and support audit committee and board presentations.
• Monitor internal control systems and document internal controls over financial reporting according to Mercedes-Benz guidelines.
• Review statutory remittances, intercompany accounting, daily clearing entries, BRS open items, wholesale system reconciliations and TDS-related dealer reconciliations.
• Prepare intercompany invoices, dealer balance confirmations and wholesale system reconciliation workings.
• Work with the Shared Service Centre and Treasury Centre of India on financial reporting, accounting standards, cash flow, ALM, LCR and credit rating inputs.
• Automate manual processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Commerce; postgraduate or professional qualification, preferably Qualified CA.
• At least 3 years of financial accounting experience, including accounting standards, audits, corporate law, RBI-NBFC regulations and SEBI requirements.
• Experience with Ind AS and IFRS financial statements, NBFCs or financial services, audits, regulatory inspections and returns, internal controls and ICOFR.
• Knowledge of RBI regulations and strong working knowledge of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, prioritization and organizational skills.
