Objective of Job

Overall field quality management for all module groups, including E/E, BiW (Body in White), chassis/cooling, digital, telematic, ADAS, interior/exterior, and lead steer process issue resolution for all Mercedes-Benz carlines in the China market, covering locally produced and imported cars. Build and maintain quality strategy and processes, while maintaining active exchange with headquarters for a globally consistent quality voice.

Main Tasks

Field quality topic steering

Ensure all field issues are properly steered and tracked within the corresponding CIRTs.
Ensure the status of all top field issues is updated in regular quality reports and properly arranged for relevant committees.

Speed up issue resolution with a quality perspective

Deep-dive into field quality issues using quality data for issue status and possible trend analysis.
Support CIRTs with all necessary information for issue resolution.
Make judgments about possible further escalation and define appropriate stakeholders and quality committee arrangements.

Window person for headquarters on quality-related topics

Be responsible for regular exchange meetings with headquarters regarding issues, reports, and related strategy.
Build communication channels for new tasks and steer them appropriately.
Support all CIRTs in discussions with headquarters on quality topics, especially for imported carlines.

Co-responsible for Data Driven Quality (DDQ)

Co-lead the data-driven quality project and ensure achievement of project timelines, milestones, and targets.
Work with the data team on quality data landing, digital tool creation, and AI models for quality specification and development.
Be responsible for related reporting in different committees.

Qualifications

Good knowledge and experience in field quality topics and process or project management.
Good experience with big data and familiarity with Telescope and Power BI; basic knowledge of AI technology.
Strong technical background in overall vehicles and components; commodity or BTV experience is a plus.
Good leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, with experience as a topic or project leader.
Active working attitude, open mind, and passion for quality work.
Fluent English in speaking, writing, listening, and reading is necessary; German is a plus.
