Job Objective
- Develop China-specific exterior lighting parts with local suppliers and verify results with the R&D headquarters in Germany and through vehicle test programs.
- Coordinate and realize localization work for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, including MMA, EVA2 and MB.EA-M.
Responsibilities
- Develop China-specific parts and manage localization projects, such as taillamps, from styling feasibility through part release and handover to series production.
- Evaluate and verify localized part maturity as the qualified components responsible person in China, serving as a technical contact for R&D Germany and BBAC.
- Support pilot runs, try-outs and series production with technical expertise.
- Support the timely introduction of local and imported parts for current and future Mercedes-Benz projects in China.
- Coordinate with product planning, quality and logistics teams, establish milestones and manage activities against tight schedules.
- Participate in technical and project meetings and present results.
- Fulfill homologation requirements and introduce new parts successfully to the Chinese market.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in electrical, electronics, automotive lighting, mechanical engineering or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in lighting development at an OEM or lighting supplier, including at least two completed lighting development projects.
- Knowledge of digital circuits, lighting structure development, luminous intensity distribution, heat distribution, vibration and tightness evaluation.
- Knowledge of CAD and CAL software; Siemens NX, Speos, LucidShape, Altium design layout and FloEFD are preferred.
- Knowledge of automotive lighting development processes, testing, validation, regulations and homologation.
- Familiarity with lighting and electrical component manufacturing technology and processes.
- Strong lighting project management and quality management skills.
- Native Chinese and fluent English; German is preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
