Tasks

As an ESP Function Development and Testing Engineer at Mercedes-Benz, you will lead ESP software and hardware development across the full system development cycle, from requirements gathering and system design through prototyping, integration testing, and release.

Work closely with suppliers on component development and industrialization.
Define and execute ESP system test plans, including software and hardware testing.
Solve technical problems in ESP system development and provide effective solutions.
Develop and maintain software for specific module functionalities with feature owners and domain leads.
Implement diagnostics and event logging capabilities in firmware, including diagnostic trouble codes, system event logging, and data retrieval mechanisms.
Collaborate with hardware teams on component selection, hardware design decisions, firmware performance, and integration.
Develop and execute comprehensive validation plans, including test cases, test scripts, and analysis of results across component, system, and vehicle-level testing.
Maintain documentation covering steering system architecture, design specifications, test plans, and test results.
Drive continuous improvements, high performance, and robust issue resolution before and after product launch.

Qualifications

Master's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, information engineering, embedded systems, automotive engineering, or a related engineering field.
Profound chassis systems software and hardware design, testing, and release knowledge at an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
Proficiency in automotive brake control systems, processes, standards, and toolchains.
Strong understanding of automotive product and technology development trends, vehicle network communication protocols, and Automotive AUTOSAR architecture.
Strong planning, organizational, intercultural, communication, teamwork, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
Native Chinese speaker with fluent English; German is a plus.
Adequate driving skills; internal Mercedes-Benz or other OEM qualification for high-level dynamic driving testing is preferred.
