Job Description
The job holder works as an Electrical and Functional AIT Engineer (Assembly, Integration and Test) and will:
- Define and execute electrical and functional tests for optical subsystems and payloads.
- Work in shifts during test campaigns.
- Define and procure auxiliary test equipment for electrical tests, including test harnesses, breakout boxes, and electrical adapters.
- Create test procedures, execute them, and assess test results, including crimping.
- Analyze and correlate events to possible root causes and find pragmatic solutions under time pressure without harming flight hardware.
- Exchange with project teams to provide test strategies optimized for quality, time, and cost.
- Participate in non-conformance activities and support investigations according to company quality standards.
- Maintain and manage tooling and infrastructure solutions.
Qualifications
- At least a bachelor's degree or comparable qualification in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Detailed specialized knowledge of Python.
- At least one of TCL, CCS5, or Elisa/OpenCenter is mandatory.
- Experience with network architecture management is required.
- Knowledge of Bash, MySQL, or Git is a bonus.
- German and English at C1 level.
- Experience in functional and electrical AIT for optical subsystems, including detector and laser subsystems.
- Aerospace-sector experience is a bonus.
- Experience in machine learning, deep learning, or AI is required.
- Experience with space standards such as ECSS.
- Good communication skills and willingness to travel and work shifts over several months.
