Objectives

China is the biggest passenger car market for Mercedes-Benz R&D China. We strive to provide China-fit products with China speed. You will be responsible for the development of drivetrain parts in China.

Responsibilities

Develop drivetrain parts from specification through final lifetime validation, including shafts and differentials.
Evaluate and release parts.
Manage projects with external suppliers and internal Quality, Project, plant, and other teams, including escalation and reporting of project status.
Coordinate import-part China interfaces and findings discussions.
Lead drivetrain part development and localization projects for side shafts and differentials.
Review drivetrain part requirements and validation plans.
Define validation content and release criteria.
Coordinate internal and external drivetrain validation during the development phase.
Act as technical manager of the drivetrain system toward the vehicle side.
Lead part-lifetime-related changes, optimization, cost reduction, and new variant development according to Mercedes-Benz project requirements.
Support plant assembly and lifecycle-management topics for drivetrain parts.

Qualifications

Working experience in drivetrain parts development.
Experience developing mechanical components for drive systems, including transmissions, differentials, and shafts.
Fluent written and spoken English; German is beneficial.
Good understanding and practical experience of development projects.
Deep knowledge of automotive drivetrain systems.
Familiarity with drivetrain parts standards in China and strong supplier-management skills.
