What you’ll be working on as a SCADA DevOps Engineer for Power Management Systems

Hours: 32 / 36 / 40
Location: Utrecht or Eindhoven
Level of experience: Medior / Senior

As a SCADA DevOps Engineer for Power Management Systems at Capgemini Engineering, you will help maintain and enhance mission-critical infrastructure for a leading European transmission system operator. You’ll work on EMS/SCADA platforms that control high-voltage electricity networks as part of the “Control Room of the Future” initiative.

In this role, you will, or be willing to learn to:

  • Monitor and optimize performance of SCADA systems across high-voltage electricity networks.
  • Develop automation solutions for upgrades, patches, and configuration management.
  • Coordinate incident resolution under pressure, including Priority-one scenarios.
  • Maintain runbooks, protocols, and documentation for power management systems.
  • Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and user stories.

Your profile

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience with SCADA systems in energy or utility environments.
  • Knowledge of EMS, energy networks, TSO, high availability, and real-time systems is a plus.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills, such as Ansible, and Linux system administration experience.
  • Interest in applying modern technologies, including AI-driven tooling where relevant.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and virtualized deployment environments.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
