Deputy Store Manager - Lowveld Mall

Purpose and overall relevance

Ensures that overall sales and profitability goals for the store are met, provides training to associates, assists the store manager with staff development and succession planning, and oversees daily store operations in compliance with adidas retail policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Support the store manager by implementing and maintaining a staff structure that minimizes payroll expenses and increases productivity.
• Evaluate employee performance, identify talent and training needs, and manage employee relations matters.
• Assist with applicant, new-hire, and payroll documentation and maintain personnel files.
• Develop staff through customer service, training, educational tools, and communication aligned with adidas retail goals.
• Ensure adherence to company systems, procedures, legal statutes, safety guidelines, visual presentation standards, and security procedures.
• Assist with merchandising, advertising, promotional programs, inventory management, and store operating systems.
• Resolve customer complaints and perform other assigned duties.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

• Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and other instructions.
• Ability to write reports, communicate effectively, calculate discounts and percentages, and present to groups.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and point-of-sale systems.
• Good judgment, decision-making, supervision, and English communication skills.
• Ability to attend work regularly and predictably.

Minimum qualifications

• Matric Certificate.
• Minimum two years of experience in a leadership role.
• Four or more years of retail experience.
