Department Manager

Behind every great team is a great coach. As a Nike Department Manager, you’ll lead, coach, and inspire your team to deliver the best experience for customers while ensuring team members feel included and supported.

You’ll use your retail expertise to drive store growth strategies, build community partnerships, and represent Nike’s culture of sport, brand, colleagues, and community.

Position Details

• Location: Nike Factory Store - Carlsbad
• Address: Carlsbad, CA
• Hours: Full time, 34–40 hours per week, including nights and weekends
• Hourly rate: $29.51–$44.26, depending on location, qualifications, skills, and experience

Qualifications

• Three years of customer-facing retail or hospitality experience
• One year of leadership experience
• Ability to recruit, build, and lead high-performing teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail business systems
• Ability to bend, squat, reach, climb a ladder, and stand for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodations
• Ability to use tools for conflict resolution and employee coaching and counseling
• Availability to work mornings, weekends, nights, and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

• Lead a team and help keep store functions running seamlessly
• Attract, assess, and onboard future teammates
• Equip store employees with tools needed for their daily responsibilities
• Lead the store team and business results, including budgeting, planning, customer service, sales, people leadership, and management
• Manage the product life cycle from the stockroom to visual merchandising and the sales floor
