Corporate Counsel

Job Overview

Under general supervision, act as Corporate Counsel for Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC. Provide timely advice, support, and analysis for management and business units on direct and indirect procurement, commercial agreements and transactions, intra-company agreements, contracts, and contract templates. Support the MBV Legal Department on labor, employment, immigration, litigation, and other matters as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform legal activities to protect MBV’s legal, reputational, and business interests and help ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Prepare, draft, negotiate, review, revise, and approve contracts, agreements, templates, and other legal and business documents.
• Advise business units, managers, and employees on legal matters, projects, risks, decisions, supplier disputes, and negotiations.
• Support intra-group contracts, agreements, transactions, litigation, arbitration, mediation, and other disputes.
• Work with external legal counsel and internal departments on matters requiring legal support.
• Provide legal research, analysis, advice, and recommendations.
• Attend team meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of relevant legal experience.
• Juris Doctorate degree from a United States law school.
• Licensed U.S. attorney in at least one U.S. state and in good standing; South Carolina Bar admission preferred.
• Strong professionalism, confidentiality, communication, presentation, organization, and legal administration skills.
• Ability to analyze and articulate legal positions, contractual obligations, risks, and legal requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, AI, and other technology tools.
