Tasks

• Conduct Functional Safety (FuSa) engineering for ADAS/AD and/or Infotainment at component level according to ISO 26262.
• Conduct FuSa engineering according to ISO 26262, Mercedes-Benz guidelines, and project RASCI.
• Derive and maintain component technical safety concepts and hardware/software safety concepts for successful review and assessment.
• Perform and maintain necessary safety analyses at system and hardware/software level.
• Review internal or supplier hardware/software safety design and verification.
• Support hardware/software teams in achieving end-to-end functional safety compliance.
• Manage FuSa processes and ensure project milestones, activities, and work products comply with the safety plan.
• Manage supplier safety, conduct safety audits, assessments, and confirmation reviews according to Mercedes-Benz standards.
• Derive and maintain the safety case and ensure safety release.
• Support component development and contribute FuSa expertise during concept design and evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in automotive engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• More than five years of system or component functional safety engineering experience according to ISO 26262.
• More than five years of hardware or software functional safety engineering experience according to ISO 26262.
• Experience managing FuSa for E/E systems according to ISO 26262.
• Automotive industry experience with an OEM or supplier.
• Knowledge of component and system FuSa engineering and FuSa management up to ASIL D according to ISO 26262.
• Knowledge of hardware or software FuSa engineering.
• Fundamental knowledge of quality management and automobile product development processes.
• Reliable English or German language skills.
