Communications Specialist

Tasks

Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. is seeking a Communications Specialist to coordinate and implement communications that inform, educate, and motivate while creating a positive image for MBUSI, its Team Members, and external audiences.

The position will:

• Develop strategic communications, maintain an editorial calendar, and coordinate content for digital, print, video, and social media channels.
• Assist in video production, photography, and graphic design.
• Support media relations, public speaking, speechwriting, key message documents, and daily organizational communications activities.
• Support and organize events.
• Monitor MBUSI, Mercedes-Benz, industry, and competitive trends; report newsworthy items and opportunities.
• Interview Team Members and leadership on a variety of topics.
• Follow all safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards, and laws, and report unsafe acts, conditions, and injuries.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Journalism, or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.

Relevant experience may include marketing, journalism, communications, government relations, public affairs, or another public-facing occupation. Entry-level candidates may have co-op or internship experience and up to two years of relevant professional experience. Experienced-level candidates need at least three years, and senior-level candidates need at least five years of relevant professional experience.

Necessary skills include experience with digital platforms, social media-style writing, video editing, graphic design, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, and Illustrator, as well as photography and videography.

Preferred skills include excellent written and verbal communication, organization, attention to detail, strategic thinking, creativity, resourcefulness, and the ability to work on teams.
