Co-Op Students BUSINESS MAJORS

At Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, the MBUSI Co-Op Program gives students the opportunity to gain real-world experience in an international environment. Students complete three terms, apply classroom learning to projects and initiatives, and work alongside professionals across multiple departments.

Co-op students take ownership of significant projects, work with a mentor, gain experience in a global setting, network with professionals and other students, and graduate with a year of experience.

Job Overview

• Work with management to structure a main project for the term.
• Perform daily and weekly tasks as instructed by a supervisor.
• Schedule and attend meetings with supervisors and mentors to discuss project progress and receive feedback.
• Conduct an end-of-term or final presentation with the team.
• Complete required departmental training, including Mercedes Production Systems training.
• Act as a company ambassador by demonstrating integrity and maintaining corporate values.
• Follow safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards and laws, and report unsafe acts, conditions and injuries.
• Perform other duties as required.

Example Projects

• Receive and analyze supplier requests for quote and create a value analysis.
• Work with logistics service providers and suppliers to ensure parts arrive on time and meet MBUSI quality standards.
• Support month-end closing and create top-management reports and analysis.

Qualifications

• Be at least a sophomore and currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in a related major at an accredited university in the United States.
• Have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Be able to complete three alternating terms: Spring, Summer and Fall.
• Be able to work in Vance, Alabama. A housing stipend is available if qualified mileage criteria are met.
