Across three terms, students apply classroom learning to projects and initiatives that drive MBUSI forward while building on their prior skillset. Students become part of a team and work side by side with professionals in a variety of departments.

Job Overview

  • Work with respective management to structure a main project for the term.
  • Perform daily and weekly tasks as instructed by your supervisor.
  • Schedule and attend meetings with your supervisor and mentors to gain feedback and discuss progress.
  • Conduct an end-of-term or final presentation with your team.
  • Complete required departmental training, including Mercedes Production Systems training.
  • Act as a company ambassador by demonstrating integrity and maintaining corporate values.
  • Perform safe work practices and participate proactively in training and safety programs.
  • Report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and injuries to a supervisor or Human Resources.
  • Work safely 100% of the time.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Example Projects

  • Developing and implementing kitting, sequencing, and pre-assembly cells
  • Coordinating design activities for assist devices planned for the electric vehicle line
  • Implementing stud visualization systems

Qualifications

  • Be at least a sophomore and currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in a related major at an accredited university in the United States.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Ability to complete three alternating terms: Spring, Summer, and Fall.
  • Ability to work in Vance, Alabama. A housing stipend is available if qualified mileage criteria are met.
