Closure and Body Accessory Part Engineer_开闭件及附件开发工程师

Job Description

• Serve as a closure parts engineer to lead or participate in closure system and automotive body development and localization projects for Mercedes-Benz production lines.
• Support the full-lifecycle technical management of closure and accessory parts from concept design and series design through prototype verification and mass production.
• Define technical solutions according to project targets, vehicle specifications, system specifications, and component specifications.
• Collaborate with body structure, overall vehicle development, project leaders, and other teams to fulfill functional, packaging, and testing requirements for China-specific content development.
• Ensure data, function releases, and product verification plans align with digital development and project milestones.
• Manage technical reviews, explanations, and clarifications with suppliers, production planning, pilot plants, and headquarters departments.
• Support supplier nomination, track part maturity, testing, and delivery progress, and promote technical improvement and cost optimization.
• Support component availability and maturity for winter, summer, durability, and complete-vehicle testing.
• Resolve issues during development and hardware phases.
• Achieve innovation-driven closure system targets for appearance, function, quality, cost, and weight.
• Accumulate lessons learned for continuous optimization of products, projects, and working methods.

Qualifications

• University degree in mechanical or automotive engineering.
• Minimum five years of development experience with hood or frunk, tailgate or trunk lid, and body accessories such as hinges, locks, and spindle drives at OEMs or suppliers.
• Knowledge of closure-system principles, design specifications, development processes, industry technology trends, and core-component performance requirements.
• Ability to develop lower-cost alternative components and solutions while keeping surrounding parts and systems unchanged.
• Strong project management, cross-departmental and supplier communication, coordination, and team leadership skills.
• Professional knowledge of mechanical design, structural mechanics, and material performance. NX proficiency is required; Smaragd experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of automotive laws, regulations, and standards, including C-NCAP, C-IASI, NVH, waterproofing, and dustproofing.
• Experience in closure-system testing and verification, including test planning, data analysis, and improvement measures.
• Intercultural competence, strong communication skills, and very good Chinese and English language skills; German is beneficial.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
