Business Analyst - Transport - Nantes

Sopra Steria’s Transport agency in Nantes is seeking a Business Analyst to work on varied, high-impact projects for major clients in the railway, logistics and postal sectors.

Your role and responsibilities

• Organize and facilitate business workshops to gather functional requirements and support decision-making.
• Analyze and understand needs expressed by users and business teams.
• Write functional documentation, including user stories, functional specifications and requirements documents.
• Participate in testing and acceptance phases.
• Propose continuous improvement plans based on understanding the client’s business needs, including business-flow mapping and solution comparisons.
• Work closely with developers and challenge proposed solutions to maximize value.
• Manage a project backlog.
• Participate in and facilitate project-monitoring meetings and co-design sessions.
• Contribute to cross-functional initiatives such as training, innovation and digital challenges.

Profile

• Degree from an engineering school, Master’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• At least five years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience in software development is desirable.
• Strong ability to understand business challenges and translate them into IT solutions.
• Knowledge of UML or another modeling tool and requirements management.
• Experience with projects delivered under fixed-price commitments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work in English.
• Service orientation, rigor, interpersonal skills and methodological expertise.
