Tasks

Objective of Job: Lead axle component and engine mount development tasks in China within the Chassis team.

Take overall responsibility for newly developed and localized axle and engine mount development according to the Mercedes-Benz Development System.
Coordinate with RD headquarters, suppliers, purchasing and quality for technical consulting, nomination, audits and supplier release.
Lead technical discussions and internal and external project meetings with suppliers and other departments.
Release technical requirements, including 3D models and 2D drawings, to suppliers and related departments.
Evaluate testing results and provide suspension component and system release according to Mercedes-Benz requirements.

General Task Description

Manage development tasks for China-specific content and open-source parts with modified designs in the chassis, including the decision-making process.
Support engineering change implementation throughout the product lifecycle of localized components for locally produced Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
Support localization tasks for locally produced parts, including supplier nomination, close collaboration with stakeholders and issue resolution during hardware phases.
Align technically with stakeholders in Germany.
Coordinate with the field quality organization.
Perform cross-functional tasks according to business needs.

Qualifications

Knowledge of chassis technology.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Self-responsible working attitude and initiative.
High commitment to Mercedes-Benz premium vehicles and quality.
Fluent English language skills.
Computer skills, including Windows, Office and CAx such as Siemens NX.
Intercultural competence and communication skills with various hierarchy levels.
Chinese native speaking skills preferred.
Willingness to travel within China and to Germany.
Overseas study or work experience preferred; German language preferred.
