Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. is seeking an Automotive Repair Technician for its Tuscaloosa, Alabama operations.

Essential Functions

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and electrical-mechanical interface issues.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical issues on current-model Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
  • Use supporting systems and resources to diagnose and repair vehicles accurately.
  • Work on or around high-voltage battery systems.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical repair processes while maintaining Mercedes-Benz quality standards.
  • Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts according to standard methods and procedures.
  • Complete repair activities from diagnosis through quality confirmation and documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve issues and support continuous improvement.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and participate in required safety training and programs.
  • Transport necessary materials and parts to designated assembly-line areas.
  • Adapt to changing assignments, shifts, procedures, repair concepts, and documentation requirements.
  • Work rotational shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Automotive Technology or a related electronics discipline, plus two years of experience as a repair technician in a certified automotive repair center; or six years of experience as a certified repair technician with additional electrical technical experience when no degree is held.
  • Experience with automotive diagnostic software and electrical or mechanical diagnostics.
  • Strong ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and perform electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility with assignments and work schedules.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Xentry WIS and related Mercedes-Benz vehicle information systems.
  • Experience with the ADP workshop management system.
  • Familiarity with Mercedes-Benz coding and electrical schematics.
  • Master ASE certification or related certifications.
