Assistant Store Manager

Location: Prague

Employment: Full-time, employment contract

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, working in-store, plus one Saturday every 2–3 weeks.

As an Assistant Store Manager at Primark, you will be a trusted partner in leading the store, with responsibility for key areas of operations, commercial performance, team development and culture.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the store’s long-term strategy and Primark’s commercial goals.
• Make key store decisions with a meaningful impact on how the store operates.
• Lead and develop a large team of 10–15 managers and almost 100 Retail Assistants.
• Manage commercial performance through strategic planning, data analysis and understanding customer needs and market dynamics.
• Oversee day-to-day store operations across all departments.
• Work with People & Culture on recruitment, onboarding and development.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and threats.
• Manage stock and resources, optimise costs and ensure product availability.
• Support local brand-building initiatives and participate in international Primark projects.

Requirements

• Several years of retail leadership experience, ideally as a regional or area manager in a large, dynamic environment or as a store manager in a large-format flagship store.
• Experience leading and inspiring large teams of managers and Retail Assistants.
• Commercial awareness combined with a practical, action-oriented approach.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work proactively and adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines.
• Advanced English.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends.
