We are looking for a technically minded Application Support Engineer to join a team responsible for supporting a workforce management and shift scheduling application. The application processes employee schedules, calculates working hours, and generates data exports used by customers.
This hands-on technical support role combines customer communication, troubleshooting, SQL analysis, code investigation, and bug fixing. Engineers are responsible for the entire support lifecycle, from customer contact through root cause analysis to implementing code fixes when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate customer-reported issues and respond to support requests.
- Analyze application behavior and explain system results to customers.
- Determine whether reported issues are expected system behavior or software defects.
- Write and execute SQL queries to prepare reports and analyze data.
- Debug and analyze C# code to understand system logic and identify root causes.
- Reproduce customer issues in a local development environment.
- Investigate shift and roster processing, working-hours calculations, payroll and export calculations, and missing or unexpected calculation results.
- Fix application defects and perform testing before deployment.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams via email and ticketing systems.
- Maintain a strong understanding of technical implementation and business rules.
Required Technical Skills
- Good knowledge of C#.
- Good knowledge of SQL Server and advanced SQL querying.
- Understanding of JavaScript.
- Experience with Git.
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot complex applications.
- Experience analyzing database-driven business applications.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and defect management.
