API Gateway Senior Technical Lead

Job Description

Design, configure, and deploy API proxies, policies, and virtual APIs using Axway Amplify API Gateway and API Manager. Manage API lifecycle processes, including design, publishing, versioning, deprecation, and retirement.

• Implement OAuth2, JWT, API key management, rate limiting, and threat protection policies.
• Configure and troubleshoot API Gateway filters, circuits, and policy chains.
• Integrate APIs with backend systems using REST, SOAP, JMS, and MQ.
• Support API onboarding for internal and external consumers and partner integrations.
• Monitor API performance, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve L2/L3 production incidents.
• Participate in code reviews, environment promotions, and release management.
• Prepare API specifications, technical documentation, and runbooks.
• Work within Agile/Scrum models with onshore, offshore, and client stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8–10 years of total IT experience, including 8+ years in Axway API Management.
• Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, and mTLS.
• Hands-on experience with REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, XSLT, JMS, and MQ.
• Familiarity with Jenkins, Git, Maven or Gradle, and CI/CD automation.
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix and scripting; Shell, Groovy, or Python is beneficial.
• Understanding of API governance, versioning strategies, and API monetization.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes is a plus.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
