Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), headquartered in Bengaluru with a satellite office in Pune, is the largest R&D center for Mercedes-Benz Group AG outside of Germany. Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Lead the end-to-end design, development, and implementation of robust AI/ML models, including deep learning models for perception, prediction, and control, for production use in automotive platforms.
- Data Pipeline Management: Develop and manage large-scale data pipelines for collecting, cleaning, annotating, and augmenting complex automotive sensor data such as LiDAR, RADAR, camera, and ultrasonic data.
- Model Optimization and Deployment: Optimize ML models for performance, latency, and memory constraints on edge devices and automotive-grade ECUs using quantization, pruning, and hardware acceleration.
- Validation and Testing: Collaborate with verification and validation teams to test and evaluate AI models against safety-critical standards and real-world driving scenarios.
- System Integration: Integrate AI software components with the vehicle operating system and other hardware and software subsystems.
- Research and Innovation: Stay current with AI/ML research and automotive technologies, proposing and prototyping innovative solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of professional experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions, with significant automotive-domain experience.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related quantitative field.
- Expertise in PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++.
- Hands-on experience with computer vision algorithms and OpenCV.
- Experience processing automotive sensor data and using sensor fusion techniques.
- Familiarity with CAN, Ethernet, automotive architectures, safety-critical systems, and ISO 26262.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with MLOps practices and model lifecycle management tools.
- Familiarity with AUTOSAR or QNX.
- Knowledge of CARLA or IPG CarMaker.
- Experience with reinforcement learning or predictive modeling.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering disciplines such as Computer Science or Information Technology. Additional Agile or DevOps certifications are a plus.
