Job Overview

The Advisor, AI Solutions Engineer is a hands-on technical role within Mercedes-Benz USA Information Technology. You will partner with business and technology teams to identify high-value opportunities and transform AI concepts into secure, scalable, production-ready solutions.

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and prioritize AI use cases based on business value, feasibility, risk, data readiness, and time to value.
• Translate business needs into secure and scalable solution designs, prototypes, and production implementations.
• Build AI-enabled applications, agents, retrieval-augmented generation solutions, integrations, APIs, and automated workflows across Azure, AWS, SaaS, and hybrid environments.
• Develop reusable architecture patterns, reference implementations, evaluation methods, and CI/CD controls.
• Evaluate emerging AI models, platforms, and agent frameworks for enterprise applicability, security, cost, and production readiness.
• Provide technical guidance, conduct architecture reviews and code walkthroughs, and deliver technical workshops.
• Collaborate with architecture, cybersecurity, data protection, legal, compliance, cloud, integration, and DevSecOps teams.
• Maintain solution architecture, model and data-flow documentation, runbooks, integration guides, and support procedures.
• Implement observability for usage, quality, latency, cost, model behavior, security events, and operational health.
• Apply privacy by design, least-privilege access, human oversight, secure software development, and risk-proportionate controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Nine or more years of software, platform, cloud, integration, or solution engineering experience, including recent hands-on delivery of AI-enabled solutions.
• Practical experience with large language models, generative AI, RAG, prompt and evaluation techniques, and cloud AI services.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience with APIs, microservices, identity and access controls, CI/CD, containers, observability, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
