Job overview

The IT Software Architect is responsible for overseeing cloud and server management activities. The role supports the transition from datacenter environments to the Azure cloud platform and manages server software requirements across five data center locations and cloud environments within NAFTA.

Responsibilities

  • Azure cloud and Wintel server capacity management (30%): Manage and monitor servers, handle capacity requests, provide operating-system cost projections, define backup solutions and retention policies, and manage audit-related tasks for Azure cloud and datacenter environments.
  • Configure Azure cloud environments for MB NAFTA Regional applications, certify Wintel operating-system platforms, monitor environments using VMware, SolarWinds and cloud-native tools, and manage operating-system software across environments (25%).
  • Lead architecture for the Enterprise Portfolio Management project, infrastructure projects and departmental initiatives within the Azure cloud and Wintel domains. Work across application domains to define and implement strategic initiatives for MB NAFTA Regional IT teams (20%).
  • Research industry trends and new server-management technologies, partner with regional and global colleagues, and recommend environmental changes for efficiency and cost savings (15%).
  • Assign Azure and data-related tasks to employees and contractors, track progress and report the status of Azure and cloud services (5%).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), Microsoft Security Compliance Identity Fundamentals (SC-900), Microsoft Data Fundamentals (DP-900), Microsoft AI Fundamentals (AI-900), Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), and Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400) certifications.
  • 10–15 years of experience in middleware environments, operating systems, server administration and e-technologies web.
  • Change-management and risk-management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, time-management, communication, presentation and teamwork skills.

Additional information

  • Must be able to simplify complex problems, work flexible hours, work holidays and weekends when required, and travel domestically and internationally.
