Objective of job
- Develop, integrate and validate methods and algorithms focused on vehicle control for driving and active safety features.
- Develop vehicle control algorithms from planned trajectory to chassis control interface for series products.
- Establish and improve a data-driven development framework for iterative control-system improvement.
- Define and maintain chassis actuator functional and performance requirements, including brake and powertrain systems.
- Analyze and resolve actuator-related issues while coordinating cross-functional stakeholders.
- Cooperate with algorithm experts and project teams in China and Germany, suppliers and external technology partners.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in vehicle engineering, robotics, electrical engineering or a related field.
- Industrial experience in robotics or ADAS/AD software development.
- Experience developing ADAS functions such as AEB, ACC or NGA.
- Experience with autonomous-driving control algorithms including MPC, LQR or PID, and basic knowledge of state-of-the-art planning.
- Hands-on experience with AD platforms such as ROS, Autoware or Apollo.
- Practical Linux or QNX software-engineering knowledge preferred.
- Native Chinese and fluent English; German is beneficial.
- Strong C++ and scripting-language skills, including Python.
- Experience with source-code management, unit testing, code review and issue-tracking systems.
- Experience with ADAS chassis control interfaces such as ESP and EPS.
- Strong intercultural communication skills, an independent and proactive working style, and willingness to travel for system testing.
Main tasks
- Develop vehicle-motion-control software for highway and urban automated-driving and active-safety systems.
- Analyze adjacent software-module requirements, derive algorithm concepts and improve control algorithms based on vehicle chassis characteristics.
- Develop data-driven evaluation systems and perform simulation, in-vehicle testing and performance tuning.
- Define and maintain actuator performance requirements and drive issue resolution with cross-functional teams.
- Plan and conduct automated-driving vehicle testing and evaluate third-party AD technology.
- Manage projects and coordinate internal and external stakeholders in China and Germany.
