Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. is hiring Specialists and Team Members at its Tuscaloosa County and Bibb County campuses, manufacturing luxury SUVs and high-performance lithium-ion batteries. Purpose of the Position: The Mercedes-Benz D.R.I.V.E. Academy (Diagnostic, Repair, Inspection for Vehicle Excellence) is a 12-month development program designed to prepare current MBUSI Team Members for future Repair Technician opportunities. Participants will complete six months of instructor-led training followed by six months of on-the-job training in a repair environment.

Program Expectations

  • Follow all MBUSI safety, quality, and workplace requirements.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance.
  • Receive satisfactory performance evaluations.
  • Successfully complete all required training, assessments, and program requirements.

Only participants who successfully complete all program requirements will be considered for available Repair Technician opportunities. Successful completion does not guarantee placement; opportunities depend on business and manpower needs.

Qualifications

Education, experience, and necessary skills must be met to qualify. A resume is required.

Baseline Requirements:

  • Be a current full-time MBUSI Team Member with a minimum of three years of full-time service.
  • Have satisfactory performance evaluations.
  • Have no active disciplinary action (CPR).

Technical Requirements: Applicants must meet at least one of the following, with verification potentially required:

  • Minimum of two years of automotive repair or service experience.
  • Completion of military technical training and at least one year of relevant military maintenance or repair experience.
  • Completion of a technical certificate, diploma, or associate degree in automotive technology or a related vehicle repair field.
  • Completion of a registered or certified apprenticeship program in a skilled trade or repair-related field.

Selection Process

  1. Sign up and provide all required information, including a resume.
  2. Complete the ACT WorkKeys Assessment outside scheduled working time.
  3. Participate in an interview if selected to move forward.
