We are currently recruiting for a Room Service waiter to join our Food & Beverage team at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, working 16 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.

To work with the Food & Beverage team to ensure achievement of strategic departmental goals, especially in the area of guest satisfaction. Deliver an excellent food and beverage experience with skill, efficiency and passion in line with departmental SOPs.

You will be required to work shifts across the Food & Beverage operating departments, mainly in In Room Dining and occasionally in the Club Lounge. You will also use your experience to develop relationships with regular hotel guests.

Essential functions

  • Provide excellent guest service by discovering guests’ needs and acting on them promptly, effectively and confidently.
  • Prepare beverages that exceed customer expectations at the required speed.
  • Prepare beverages in an efficient, hygienic and systematic manner, ensuring the work area is kept clean.
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with the floor team to ensure seamless information transfer for effective floor service.
  • Be fully conversant with all In Room Dining and Club Lounge policies and procedures.
  • Provide a warm, welcoming guest experience and ensure the bar area looks clean, tidy and professional.
  • Stay current with beverage trends to ensure In Room Dining and Club Lounge offerings remain on trend.
  • Maintain full liaison with other members of the Food & Beverage team, including strong communication with the Kitchen and Front Office.

Requirements

  • Food & Beverage service experience required.
  • Previous experience in a client-facing role within a luxury five-star environment is a distinct advantage.
  • Good communication skills and excellent written and spoken English.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours.
  • Ability to memorize regular guests on sight.
  • Thorough knowledge of wines, spirits and coffee preparation.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the utmost professionalism.
  • Excellent instinctive customer service skills and the ability to interact with guests from all backgrounds and cultures.
