Tasks

The PIONEERING NeXt department supports Mercedes-Benz divisions in securing technological and innovation leadership. The Startup & Academic Partnerships team connects external global innovation and academic ecosystems with internal R&D departments.

• Exchange with internal departments to define innovation needs
• Derive suitable collaboration models
• Scout and evaluate innovation and academic partners
• Initiate joint projects
• Prepare and present information to internal and external management
• Support the design, development and operation of internal know-how platforms and tools
• Review and pilot suitable AI tools for the area of application

The position can start in September 2026.

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical field, industrial engineering, business informatics or a comparable course of study
• Confident use of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
• Fluent written and spoken English and German
• Analytical and conceptual skills, communication and teamwork skills, willingness to take responsibility and initiative
• Enthusiasm and ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics
• Initial practical experience and time abroad are advantageous
• Analytical thinking and a strategic approach
