Atos is seeking an experienced VMware / Azure DevOps Engineer to support the design, implementation, automation, and ongoing management of VMware and Azure infrastructure platforms. You will work with architects, developers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, highly available infrastructure solutions while driving DevOps best practices and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, configure, and support VMware and Azure infrastructure platforms.
  • Implement infrastructure solutions from approved HLDs and contribute to LLD creation.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using ARM Templates and Bicep.
  • Manage VMware virtualisation environments and Azure cloud services.
  • Manage source control and deployment processes using Git/GitHub and YAML.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, platform, virtualisation, and deployment issues.
  • Ensure infrastructure environments are secure, scalable, and aligned with best practices.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, engineers, and business stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation and process optimisation.
  • Review technical issues and implement fixes, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Support infrastructure integration across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Contribute to successful project delivery through effective planning and cross-team collaboration.

Mandatory Skills and Experience

  • Azure DevOps, VMware vSphere, VMware ESXi, and VMware vCenter.
  • ARM Templates, Bicep, CI/CD pipelines, YAML, and Git/GitHub.
  • Azure networking and infrastructure engineering.
  • VMware infrastructure administration and engineering.
  • Infrastructure design, build, integration, and infrastructure as code.
  • Troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Experience supporting HLD and LLD activities.
  • Experience building, deploying, and supporting Azure and VMware solutions within enterprise environments.

Nice to Have

  • Azure monitoring and observability, PowerShell, Azure CLI, Terraform, and Kubernetes (AKS).
  • Azure security services and Microsoft Azure certifications.
  • VMware NSX and VMware Aria Operations (vRealize Operations).
  • Experience working within large-scale enterprise or public sector environments.

Location and Requirements

This is a hybrid role requiring attendance three days per week at one of the following DWP locations: Benton Park View, Newcastle; Manchester Corporate Hub, Manchester; or Peel Park, Blackpool.

Full UK SC Clearance is required. Candidates must be UK-based. Travel to client and project locations is required.
