About the position
You will join the Global Markets Division (GMD), the global division responsible for Crédit Agricole CIB’s capital markets. The role is part of the AlgoFX & eTrading team within the Global Markets Trading Department.
Role context
You will supervise the algorithmic execution of client orders in FX spot and hedge client transactions referenced to the fixing price according to a systematic and predefined approach.
Main responsibilities
- Documentation and reporting: Maintain up-to-date documentation on algorithm functionality and produce quantitative reports and marketing materials for the riskless algo execution offering.
- Commercial support and product development: Assist sales teams in marketing the client algo offering and, as product owner, continuously extend and improve client algo capabilities, including new platforms, liquidity pools, and products.
- Analysis and performance: Backtest and analyze the performance of FX algorithmic strategies and produce ad hoc analyses of eFX performance.
- Monitoring and execution: Monitor algorithms and executions in real time, monitor trading books, and hedge risks where necessary according to predefined rules.
- Optimization and hedging: Determine and optimize predefined execution strategies to hedge FX benchmark orders in the interests of the client and the bank.
- Client support: Interact directly with clients to process their instructions and provide product support.
Legal and regulatory responsibilities
You will comply with all legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements and complete mandatory training. The role is limited to riskless execution; principal risk-taking is excluded except for managing positions related to errors or incidents where this does not adversely affect client order execution. You will maintain strict segregation of client information and comply with policies and standards applicable to algorithm operations.
Key contacts
Internally, you will work closely with Sales, Compliance, Risk, and Quant teams. Externally, you will interact with clients, platforms, liquidity providers, and brokers. Client interactions must take place in the presence of a sales representative, either in person or remotely.
Profile
- Postgraduate degree, MA, MSc, PhD, doctorate, or equivalent.
- Engineering degree or university master’s degree specializing in finance.
- Previous experience in financial markets, such as an internship, apprenticeship, or first professional experience.
- 0–2 years of experience.
- Knowledge of FX market specifics.
- Programming skills in Python; knowledge of KDB is a plus.
- Fluent English.
