About the role
Within a 24x7 operational environment, you will be responsible for supervising a team of Store Keepers in a particular shift within an allocated area of Technical Stores, Tools Stores and Logistics. You will ensure that aircraft spares, tools, equipment and other technical materials are handled and stored in compliance with Qatar Airways and Civil Aviation authorities’ rules and regulations, including QCAA, FAR, EASA, IATA, OEM and other government agencies.
You will ensure correct transactions are updated, inventory data integrity is maintained, daily activity records are preserved, Quality, Finance and HSE policies are followed, and relevant audit requirements are met.
Responsibilities
- Ensure stores activities during a particular shift, including preloading, receiving and dispatch, binning and picking, and delivery and collection of aircraft spares, materials, tools and equipment, are completed on time to support aircraft maintenance and workshop activities.
- Resolve discrepancies and complete relevant system transactions in real time.
- Ensure aircraft spares, tools and equipment are segregated and stored with relevant documents to establish traceability and serviceability status within bounded and quarantine stores, in accordance with EASA, QCAA, Qatar Airways and OEM procedures.
- Ensure FIFO is established, life and batch control is followed, and ESDS, cylinders, wheels and dangerous goods are properly stored.
- Communicate effectively with end users to prioritize activities according to maintenance requirements and avoid delays and disruptions. Escalate issues to the relevant in-charges or Managers.
- In conjunction with the Spares Movement team, ensure returned serviceable and unserviceable items are handled within the defined timeframe.
- Liaise with concerned departments to resolve Hold, RTS, Robbery, SDR, TOR and Scrap-related items held in Stores Custody.
- Liaise with the MSMC team to ensure timely movement of tools required at other tool store locations.
- Ensure optimal task distribution and storage-space utilization, identify future needs, and review and recommend changes to existing procedures.
- Participate in Finance, Quality and HSE audits and ensure audit observations are addressed and resolved.
About you
- Minimum 4 years of job-related experience.
- Driving licence, especially for operating material-handling equipment; not essential for tools store.
- Good knowledge and exposure to computerized inventory-control systems.
- Ability to understand parts certification, technical publications and company publications related to aircraft-parts storage, including ATA chapters, Vendor Manuals, IPC, CMM, TEM, SDM, Shelf Life Manual and TPM.
- Familiarity with EASA, FAA and QCAA regulations.
- Familiarity with dangerous-goods handling, parts distribution and segregation requirements.
