Purpose

Drive store profitability by meeting or exceeding store sales and profit targets, managing all resources within the store to provide customers with a leading shopping experience, and ensuring proper execution of established policies, procedures, initiatives, and directives.

Key Accountabilities

Lead, coach, and develop

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and development efforts in partnership with HR, Talent Acquisition, and Retail Training.
  • Coach, motivate, and inspire Assistant Store Managers to accomplish store goals and maximize performance.
  • Create a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations, analyzing performance, and providing timely feedback.
  • Identify and develop strong performers with potential for growth.
  • Complete Store Manager training programs and continually seek coaching and learning opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with established HR policies and procedures.

Lead a service culture

  • Drive a service and selling culture through leadership of the adidas Group service model.
  • Lead by example on the sales floor and focus team members on consumers and selling.
  • Schedule and zone employees to prioritize consumer service and sales.
  • Analyze Net Promoter Score results and communicate findings to the store team.
  • Optimize the consumer experience through ship-from-store, click and collect, and Store Associate Mobile initiatives.

Lead store operations

  • Lead store operations systematically and efficiently according to adidas Retail Operating Rhythms.
  • Ensure compliance with retail management standards, policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Process merchandise deliveries on the day they arrive and keep products accessible to customers.
  • Ensure cash wrap transactions are processed quickly and accurately.
  • Lead change management initiatives and recommend improvements to product availability and commercial viability.
  • Implement loss prevention, health, and safety policies and procedures.

Lead brand and product expertise

  • Act as a Brand Ambassador and consistently demonstrate adidas Brand Attitude and Values.
  • Promote passion for sport, culture, and community.
  • Maintain Retail Experience, Visual Excellence, and In-Store Communication standards.
  • Partner with the District Manager and Retail Training to deliver product training and learning programs.

Lead store profitability

  • Take ownership of the store and its commercial success.
  • Analyze data with the District Manager to drive continuous improvement in sales, productivity, and profitability.
  • Ensure the legal and financial integrity of the store.
  • Maintain a safe and productive shopping and working environment.

Knowledge, Capabilities, and Experience

  • Excellent skills operating personal computers, POS systems, and software packages including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of profit and loss statements and store KPIs.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make sound independent decisions and build effective working relationships.
  • Inspirational attitude and ability to maintain high performance standards.
  • Ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write English.
  • Reliable and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically by car and air.

Physical Requirements

The role requires frequent standing, walking, handling objects, reaching, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Employees may work 10–12 hours per day during peak seasonal periods.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Four-year college or university degree in business, retail management, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least 18 months of experience in a sports or fashion customer- and commercially focused retail environment, including at least 12 months of Store Management experience.
