Drive the store’s profitability by meeting or exceeding store sales and profit targets, managing all store resources to provide customers with a leading shopping experience, and ensuring the proper execution of established policies, procedures, initiatives, and directives.
Key responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the store and its commercial success.
- Analyze relevant data, challenge the status quo, and drive continuous improvements in sales, productivity, and profitability.
- Ensure the legal and financial integrity of the store.
- Lead by example on the sales floor, focusing team members on customers and selling.
- Schedule staff to serve customers, drive sales, and execute tasks effectively.
- Act as a brand ambassador and ensure proper in-store brand execution.
- Train store team members on foundational, seasonal, brand, and product knowledge.
- Manage store operations, visual merchandising, in-store communication, deliveries, cash transactions, and loss prevention in accordance with established standards.
- Maintain a safe and productive shopping and working environment.
- Recruit and train store team members, adhere to HR policies, and create a high-performance culture through clear expectations and prompt feedback.
- Identify and develop strong performers with the District Manager and share best practices across district stores.
- Complete training programs and pursue coaching and learning opportunities.
Key relationships
Customers, peers and supervisors, vendors and support functions, and local administration.
Minimum qualifications
- At least 18 months of experience in a sports or fashion customer- and commercial-focused retail environment.
- At least 12 months of store management responsibility.
- Intermediate numeracy and literacy skills and advanced verbal communication skills.
