The Retail Design Team at adidas is responsible for creating future-forward store experiences that elevate the adidas brand across Retail & Wholesale channels. This role maximizes the profitability of Retail Concepts by managing the development process and team for globally defined Retail and Wholesale concept hardware, including fixtures and fittings, sales support items, and digital hardware.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and manage global retail engineering and manufacturing partners according to growth plan analysis.
  • Maintain and support the vendor network to optimize economies of scale and production costs.
  • Create and support processes and procedures to maximize supply chain opportunities.
  • Support market-based tenders for concept hardware in cooperation with Procurement.
  • Ensure data accuracy within systems for decision-making and reporting.
  • Manage project managers for technical development of global retail concepts and maximize synergies between concepts.
  • Consult with Global Retail Design and market partners to maximize scalability and sustainability.
  • Establish process-driven communication with key stakeholders.
  • Evaluate concepts and provide feedback and guidance to drive high performance.
  • Promote a high-performance culture by setting expectations and goals.
  • Translate company goals into team actions and business plans, and monitor performance.
  • Support updates to concept guidance and tools for transparent demand management.

Key Relationships

Retail Design, Visual Excellence, Quality & Standards, Demand & Inventory, Global and Regional Procurement, Regional Store Development & Wholesale teams, Executive Management, third-party vendors, external service providers, supply chain managers, and factories.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of construction, manufacturing, and quality control processes for concept hardware, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Material engineering expertise.
  • Advanced communication, negotiation, and issue-resolution skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Advanced MS Office, including PowerPoint.
  • Workflow and database software knowledge and project management skills.

Required Education and Experience

  • Graduate-level engineering or graduate-level business administration degree.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience managing third-party supplier relationships in an international context.
  • Strong communication skills.
