Our Sourcing team plays a vital role in bringing Primark products to life. Working closely with suppliers and cross-functional partners across global markets, the team helps deliver high-quality products at the best value for customers. The team builds strong supplier relationships, drives commercial decisions, identifies opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement, and supports sustainable business growth around the world.
What You’ll Do as Sourcing Lead
- Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management: Develop and execute sourcing strategies, optimise supplier portfolios, and drive business performance.
- Supplier Relationship Building: Build strong, trust-based partnerships with vendors and manufacturers to deliver long-term value.
- Commercial Negotiation: Lead negotiations, manage contracts, and secure commercially beneficial outcomes.
- Global Stakeholder Management & Influencing: Collaborate across sourcing, design, quality, sustainability, logistics, and leadership teams.
- Team Leadership & People Development: Lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams across multiple locations.
- Supply Chain & Operational Excellence: Improve lead times, capacity planning, production efficiency, and critical path delivery.
- Sustainability & Responsible Sourcing: Apply knowledge of ethical trade, supplier compliance, traceability, and sustainable sourcing practices.
- Change Leadership & Continuous Improvement: Challenge existing ways of working, drive innovation, and deliver measurable improvements across sourcing operations.
What You’ll Bring
- Extensive strategic sourcing experience in apparel, textiles, or consumer goods.
- A strong track record in supplier performance management, cost negotiation, and commercial outcomes.
- Deep knowledge of China’s manufacturing landscape, supplier capabilities, production planning, and supply chain operations.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across global and cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of responsible sourcing, compliance, sustainability standards, and environmental regulations.
- Ability to drive change, innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence in fast-paced environments.
Experience & Qualifications
8+ years of sourcing experience in apparel, textiles, or consumer goods, with deep knowledge of the China sourcing and manufacturing landscape.
Language Skills
Fluency in English is required. Mandarin language skills are highly desirable. Outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills are also required.
