Objective

Lead sound component development in China within the Body Electrical Integration, Sound, NVH & Aero team, including development according to the Mercedes-Benz Development System (MDS), cooperation with R&D Germany, suppliers, purchasing and quality teams, release of component drawings and 3D models, identification of China-specific requirements, and ownership of open-source localization.
Provide technical support to Joint Venture BBAC R&D, including engineering change implementation throughout the product lifecycle and technical support for production engineering issues.

Tasks

Take responsibility for sound component development in China.
Develop and release component drawings and 3D models with suppliers, including technical documentation of engineering changes.
Conduct component- and system-level testing and release.
Support engineering change implementation for localized components of locally produced Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
Act as the interface between the joint venture plant and R&D Germany to analyze and solve series-production engineering issues.
Work with Field Quality to ensure Chinese market issues are fed back, analyzed and resolved.

Qualifications

University degree in Mechanical Automotive Engineering, Audio Engineering Technology or Sound Engineering, Electrical, Acoustical or Electroacoustic Engineering with a focus on audio electronics, signal processing and acoustics, or a similar engineering qualification.
Suitable for graduates with initial automotive industry experience, such as internships, or applicants with at least 2–3 years of experience at OEMs or suppliers.
Knowledge of sound system component development, coordination, overall sound system development and sound system tuning.
Familiarity with E/E architecture, active noise cancellation technologies, the Chinese automotive sound supplier landscape and market-specific sound preferences.
Knowledge of vehicle development processes is advantageous.
Experience with electroacoustic components including loudspeakers, AVAS, microphones and amplifiers across the MDS process from concept to release.
Ability to coordinate supplier development, define component targets, lead integration into vehicle architecture, coordinate cross-functional development, ensure validation and release readiness, manage issues and root causes, and control industrialization, quality and lifecycle management.
Excellent teamwork, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, with strong planning and organizational abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office and CAx tools such as Siemens NX.
Willingness to travel within China and abroad.
Native Chinese and fluent English language skills are mandatory. German language knowledge is advantageous.
Good driving skills; overseas study or work experience is preferred.
