Objective
- Lead sound component development in China within the Body Electrical Integration, Sound, NVH & Aero team, including development according to the Mercedes-Benz Development System, co-creation with RD Germany and local partners, release of drawings and 3D models, identification of China-specific requirements, and ownership of open source localization.
- Provide technical support to BBAC RD, including engineering change implementation throughout the product lifecycle and technical support for production engineering issues.
Tasks
- Develop and release sound component drawings and 3D models with suppliers, including engineering change documentation.
- Conduct component- and system-level testing and release.
- Support localized components for locally produced Mercedes-Benz vehicles throughout their lifecycle.
- Act as the interface between the joint venture plant and RD Germany to analyze and solve series-production engineering issues.
- Work with Field Quality to ensure Chinese-market issues are reported, analyzed, and resolved.
Qualifications
- University degree in mechanical automotive engineering, audio or sound engineering, electrical, acoustical or electroacoustic engineering, or a similar qualification.
- Suitable for graduates with initial automotive experience, such as internships, or candidates with at least 2–3 years of OEM or supplier experience.
- Knowledge of sound-system component development, system development and tuning, EE architecture, active noise cancellation, and the Chinese automotive sound-supplier landscape.
- Experience with electroacoustic components such as loudspeakers, AVAS, microphones, and amplifiers, including supplier development, validation, integration, issue management, industrialization, quality, and lifecycle management.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, presentation, planning, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CAx tools such as Siemens NX.
- Willingness to travel within China and abroad.
- Native Chinese and fluent English are mandatory; German is an advantage.
- Good driving skills and preferably overseas study or work experience.
