We are looking for a Solution Architect with 5+ years of architectural experience, strong leadership capabilities and fluent English, who is ready to fully dedicate to solution architecture ownership in complex, business-critical environments.
This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, enterprise architecture and AI-enabled solutions. We are explicitly looking for generalist architects capable of designing holistic solutions across multiple IT domains rather than narrow, highly technical or implementation-focused data specialists.
You will work on strategic initiatives for a global leader in the maritime transport industry.
What you will be responsible for
- Own solution architecture from problem framing to target design, ensuring alignment with business outcomes and enterprise strategy.
- Partner with senior business and IT stakeholders to challenge requirements, clarify objectives and co-create optimal solutions.
- Design, document and defend end-to-end solution architectures, including key decisions, trade-offs and risks.
- Define architectures that are scalable, resilient, secure and future-ready, aligned with technology roadmaps and standards.
- Lead architecture topics across applications, integrations, data, platforms and AI use cases.
- Act as an architectural leader and mentor, setting direction and influencing teams without line management.
- Ensure strong handover to delivery teams and support implementation at an architectural level without hands-on coding.
- Drive architectural governance, quality and consistency across initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to embed AI, automation and intelligent decisioning within enterprise solutions.
- Contribute to the evolution of architecture practices, frameworks, tooling and ways of working.
Required experience and mindset
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Lead Architect or Enterprise Architect in complex, multi-system environments.
- Ability to operate at a strategic and conceptual level, not limited to one technology or domain.
- Strong understanding of modern data architectures, including medallion architecture from a design and governance perspective.
- Experience designing event-driven architectures, with architectural exposure to Kafka in enterprise-scale ecosystems.
- Solid understanding of system integration patterns, including APIs, events, workflows and orchestration.
- Hands-off but delivery-aware, with the ability to guide teams without performing operational or development tasks.
- Demonstrated leadership behaviors, including ownership, decision-making and influence without authority.
- High business acumen and excellent communication skills.
- Good understanding of AI concepts and enterprise AI adoption.
- English at minimum B2 level.
Nice to have
- Experience designing solutions in public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Familiarity with enterprise integration and messaging platforms.
- Exposure to architecture governance models and frameworks.
- Experience working in large, global, matrix organizations.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, 1–2 trips per year to Marseille.
- French language.
What's in it for you?
- Courses and certifications, including Google Cloud, AWS and ITIL.
- Wellbeing programs, work-life balance, integration and passion-sharing events.
- Private medical and dental care.
- Family-friendly offices supporting working parents.
- Benefits platform covering shopping, cinema and sport.
- Co-funding of sport activities.
- Conferences and expert communities.
- Gift packages for special occasions.
- Additional days off and Atos Jubilee gifts.
- Charity and eco initiatives.
- Hybrid working mode, with a maximum of two office visits per month based on location.
Benefits may vary depending on the employment contract type. Atos is committed to diversity and inclusion and to a fair work environment.
