HEINEKEN Beverages has an exciting opportunity for a Shift Technician in its Packaging Engineering department, based at Wadeville Production in Germiston, South Africa.
Key Performance Areas
- Maintain machinery and equipment on site to required standards.
- Maintain and repair site equipment and buildings.
- Adhere to planned and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Improve OPI NONA on all production lines and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Supervise the health and safety of machinery, equipment and the working environment.
- Ensure compliance with the OHS Act.
- Provide an effective engineering service to the Production department.
- Perform administrative tasks, including job cards and quality check sheets.
- Perform stand-in duties.
- Lead and supervise people.
- Participate in TPM practices.
Experience and Skills
- N3-N6 equivalent with a Trade Certificate as Fitter and/or Turner, Mechanical Engineering, Grade 12 or Mechanical NTC3 qualification.
- Experience in a high-speed, high-tech bottling operation is advantageous.
- Completed an apprenticeship with a recognized institution.
- Three to five years of relevant experience in FMCG.
- Ability to work under pressure with strong attention to detail.
- Proven problem-solving ability and knowledge of problem-solving methods.
- Self-motivated, innovative and able to work with limited supervision.
- Good leadership behavior towards colleagues, superiors and company values.
- Willingness and ability to work shifts and overtime when required.
