Your Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP Enterprise Architect with a strong background in designing and delivering complex SAP landscapes in manufacturing environments. This role focuses on defining robust SAP architectures, leading S/4HANA programs, and ensuring seamless integration across enterprise applications, shop-floor systems, and global operations.
You will work closely with business and technical teams to turn manufacturing requirements into scalable, high-quality SAP solutions that support operational excellence and future growth. This role is based in Belgium (Antwerp).
Your Responsibilities
- SAP & Enterprise Architecture Leadership: Design and maintain SAP-centric enterprise architectures covering application, integration, data, and technology layers. Lead S/4HANA templates, global rollouts, and modernization initiatives. Establish architecture standards, patterns, and governance processes. Act as Design Authority and Custodian of the solution, ensuring consistent integration across SAP, MES/MOM, PLM, SCADA, and other manufacturing systems.
- Manufacturing Process & System Alignment: Translate manufacturing workflows, including production planning, quality, logistics, and maintenance, into robust SAP application designs. Assess current-state SAP and OT/IT landscapes and define future-state architectures. Address shop-floor connectivity, IT/OT integration, batch and process manufacturing, and traceability.
- Technical Delivery & Project Oversight: Provide architectural guidance during design, build, testing, and deployment. Review solution designs, interface specifications, custom developments, performance considerations, and security requirements. Support delivery teams, manage risks and dependencies, and use SAP Solution Manager or equivalent tools for design governance and documentation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work with business process owners, project managers, solution leads, developers, and technical teams across regions. Facilitate design workshops, architecture boards, and technical alignment sessions.
- Technology Strategy & Platform Evaluation: Recommend SAP roadmaps, S/4HANA transition paths, and landscape simplification strategies. Evaluate API management, middleware, event-driven integration, and SAP ecosystem platforms such as MES/MOM, PLM, manufacturing execution, and automation solutions.
Your Profile
Experience
- 20+ years in SAP solution architecture, enterprise integration, and SAP-based application design.
- Mandatory experience with SAP S/4HANA design, implementations, and template-driven global rollout programs.
- Deep manufacturing experience in multinational organizations.
- Strong software engineering knowledge and hands-on application development experience.
- Proven delivery of complex SAP transformation projects.
Technical Skills
- Functional and technical knowledge across SAP modules including PP, MM, QM, EWM, SD, and FI/CO.
- Experience with SAP Solution Manager for architecture governance, documentation, and project lifecycle management.
- Understanding of IDoc, RFC, APIs, middleware, and event-driven integration patterns.
- Experience with MES/MOM, SCADA, OT systems, and IT/OT integration.
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or GCP and data platforms supporting SAP.
- Understanding of industrial security and compliance requirements, including ISA/IEC 62443.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a structured, delivery-oriented mindset.
- Ability to simplify complex architectural topics for stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.
Preferred Experience
- SAP functional leadership or leadership of functional teams.
- TOGAF or equivalent certification.
- Experience in global consulting or large-scale transformation programs.
