About the role
Capgemini Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Power Systems Engineer with advanced energy-sector knowledge to support the design of first-of-a-kind energy utility or power plant systems. The ideal candidate will have experience designing large, complex, high-reliability systems.
Location
This is a remote opportunity, with candidates ideally located in the Eastern US time zone. Listed locations include Atlanta, GA; Berwyn, PA; Burlington, MA; Bridgewater, NJ; and New York, NY.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and integration of SC1/Class 1E safety-related, SC2, and SC3 electrical systems, including medium- and low-voltage distribution.
- Perform load flow, short-circuit, motor-starting, and protective-relay coordination studies using ETAP and ANSI/IEC standards.
- Prepare requirements specifications, electrical load lists, one-lines, calculations, schematics, and three-line diagrams.
- Develop procurement specifications for transformers, switchgear, diesel generators, and UPS systems, collaborating with suppliers.
- Support regulatory compliance and licensing requirements under CA-CNSC and US-NRC standards.
- Interface with transmission providers on generator interconnection agreements and grid-stability compliance.
- Apply applicable IEEE, IEC, CSA, NEC, and European Union codes and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; a master's degree is preferred.
- US PE, Canadian PEng, or international equivalent license.
- At least 7 years of experience in heavy and high-reliability industries such as nuclear, power, process, marine, oil and gas, or military.
- Proficiency with PC and productivity software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, and Visio.
Compensation and benefits
The posted base compensation range is $130,000–$200,000. Regular full-time employees may receive benefits including paid time off, holidays, medical, dental and vision coverage, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and employee assistance programs.
