A key player in Product Development & Sourcing (PD&S) in driving PD&S’s vision to be the Most Agile, Most Competitive, Most Innovative & Most Sustainable PD&S in the industry. Enable the sustainable supply chain to produce sustainable products through comprehensive sustainability management. Develop the strategic direction and execute strategic initiatives within the supply chain while collaborating and operating within a dynamic environment that demands agility and flexibility.
Job scope
- Develop and execute strategic programs on environmental-related subjects within the global supply chain.
- Support the development of a strategic global supply chain roadmap, including program requirements and objectives.
- Drive sustainability programs and projects across the global supply chain.
- Leverage team expertise to provide strategic advice on program development and execution.
- Provide technical advice to support field ESG operations and business operations in the event of compliance breaches, driving continuous improvement.
- Define supply chain risks and opportunities through materiality assessments and align on risk-taking strategies.
- Connect and collaborate with industry stakeholders to drive sustainability initiatives.
- Stay current with regulatory legislation and guidelines in the EU, US, and key sourcing markets.
- Ensure overarching policies and guidelines are up to date and compliant with current regulations.
- Provide business partners with clear and concise global supply chain summaries of program performance and impacts.
- Raise internal awareness and knowledge of environmental-related requirements and programs.
- Identify and explore future value-added opportunities to enhance supply chain performance.
- Ensure sourcing operations and practices comply with adidas’ Responsible Sourcing & Purchasing Policy, adidas standards, and legal requirements.
- Role model leadership to foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Key Relationships
PD&S teams including Costing, Sustainability & Sourcing Strategy, and Sourcing/Material Operations; Corporate Internal Audit; Global Legal, Social & Environmental Affairs, and Government Affairs; and external stakeholders including industry associations, NGOs, professional institutions, laboratories, and external monitors.
Requisite Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience managing environmental-related aspects; solid apparel or footwear experience is preferred.
- At least 3 years of relevant project leadership and stakeholder management experience.
- At least 3 years of people and team management experience.
