Working as part of Global Technology’s Consumer Product and Innovation organization, this team supports the Nike Sports Research Lab by implementing innovative athlete-facing experiences. The role works with technical and non-technical Nike Innovation stakeholders, athletes, and Global Technology teams.

Who We Are Looking For

NIKE is seeking a senior engineering manager who combines technical depth with product ownership, can translate ambiguous research and innovation goals into prioritized execution plans, and builds strong partnerships across complex enterprise environments.

  • Translate business and research goals into technical requirements.
  • Own product roadmaps and prioritize backlogs with stakeholders.
  • Design, build, and consume reliable, secure synchronous and asynchronous web services.
  • Build consumer-facing web UIs using modular and reactive frameworks.
  • Lead architectural design discussions and promote agile development methodologies.
  • Understand analytical and transactional data, system design, and AI implications.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in technology and software engineering roles.
  • Experience leading engineering teams and partnering with product managers or owners.
  • Experience with React, Vue.js, or Angular.
  • Experience with REST, domain-driven design, microservices, cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.
  • Understanding of integration patterns, data movement, enterprise security, and privacy requirements.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodology.

What You’ll Work On

The team provides technology-centered experiences that enable Nike’s Innovation and Sports Science organizations to engage with consumers at scale. Working within the LeBron James Innovation Center, the engineering team collaborates with innovation leaders, designers, data scientists, and researchers.

  • Own and communicate a product roadmap and prioritize team work.
  • Translate research and innovation goals into actionable product requirements.
  • Review technical designs, code, and tests.
  • Foster collaboration, experimentation, initiative, curiosity, and mentoring.
  • Manage direct reports’ performance, growth, and career development.
  • Handle hiring, onboarding, compensation planning, and related personnel matters with HR.
  • Design full-stack applications for quality, security, reliability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Practice DevOps through continuous testing, automation, and monitoring.
