Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation
Drive the C4C concept creation and implementation of retail design concepts and solutions for GCA through flagship stores and pilots in VM/ISC, ensuring locally relevant, on-brand design solutions and bringing global retail creative direction to life for GCA.
Develop retail design concepts and solutions that create brand desire for Chinese consumers, set world-class standards for the adidas brand image in GCA, and enable successful implementation of the global vision through experience touchpoints. Inspire a winning culture, drive operational excellence, and collaborate with global headquarters teams and other markets to elevate consumer impact in GCA.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive China-for-China concept design development in VM/ISC.
- Develop VM/ISC manuals and tools for GCA implementation.
- Cascade global VM and ISC guidelines to GCA teams across mid- and long-term tools.
- Drive compliance of local executions with global guidelines across VM/ISC and seasonal campaigns.
- Gather input on retail concepts, formats, digital and physical experiences, VM/ISC, and other experience topics based on local consumer and channel needs.
- Act as the market communication counterpart for the Global HQ VM/ISC team.
- Validate global deliverables against China input and ensure brand look and feel lands correctly in key stores across China.
- Drive design review and approval processes for flagship stores and new concept pilots.
- Optimize and develop a high-quality creative design vendor pool.
- Manage talent processes, promote a high-performance culture, and translate company goals into business plans.
- Review design execution costs and manage cost efficiency for flagship and pilot stores in GCA.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Deep knowledge of retail visual merchandising with theoretical and practical experience.
- Proven track record in new store environment and concept creation and development.
- Strong organizational skills, flexibility, technical skills, and project management experience.
- Fluent English; another European language is an advantage.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills; iShopShape is an advantage.
Education and Experience
- Business or Marketing degree.
- 6–10 years of experience in retail visual merchandising, including fashion retailing.
- At least 2 years working with global markets or 1 year working in a top-tier adidas market.
- At least 2 years of management experience.
