Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
Manage a team of product developers in the creation and commercialization of assigned products. Actively monitor development calendars to ensure deadlines, costing KPIs, and quality standards are met. Advocate for product integrity by working closely with cross-functional creation center teams and related support services.
Key Responsibilities: Team Leader (30%)
- Partner with Marketing and Design to achieve business unit goals and objectives.
- Communicate proactively with development and cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth product development process.
- Research new technologies and materials and communicate potential development options to Design and Marketing.
- Supervise the costing process to achieve the best possible cost throughout product creation.
- Communicate seasonal product initiatives, process changes, and longer-term category vision to internal and external teams.
- Take responsibility for Buy Ready performance through strong interfaces with Marketing, Design, Materials Development, Pattern, Logistics, and Sourcing.
- Manage the team to achieve high performance through delegation, objective setting, performance assessments, motivation, and training and development.
Key Responsibilities: Product Developer (70%)
- Communicate necessary information to Marketing, Design, Suppliers, and LO/OC for effective product creation.
- Ensure target price and product designs are aligned through predictive costing.
- Review, validate, and approve T1 costing information throughout the creation process.
- Manage design handover to T1 and incorporate feedback where quality or cost can be improved without sacrificing aesthetics.
- Ensure timely and accurate T1 data entry for article descriptions, bills of materials, costing, and other required data.
- Evaluate prototypes for compliance with article descriptions, manage fit and size specifications, and approve colors, accessories, and materials.
- Ensure materials, accessories, and prototypes meet adidas quality, safety, and A01 chemical standards.
- Review size sets, measurements, logo placement, and fit where required.
- Review and sign off sealing samples with complete article descriptions and related documents before Buy Ready dates.
- Research innovation in garment construction, pattern and fit, embellishment, and trims, working cross-functionally with Materials, Costing, Pattern, Sourcing, and T1/T2 teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication and facilitation skills.

- In-depth knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing.
- Advanced knowledge of material construction, testing, wear and physical product testing, and costing.
- Ability to fit garments and communicate required changes to T1.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
- Strong IT skills, including MS Office, PDM, and CAD, with the ability to work with Product Data Management Systems.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications
- Four-year college or university degree with emphasis on clothing technology and/or manufacturing.
- Minimum eight years of progressive work experience in the garment or textile industry.
- First experience managing a team.
