Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
Drive sustainable apparel business growth through a product strategy that reflects an understanding of value-driven consumers, online and offline behavior, and distribution across e-commerce platforms and physical retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deepen consumer connection: Obtain and deliver consumer insights to support product and marketplace management decisions.
- Merchandising strategy and planning: Deliver seasonal merchandising plans and strategy, including range architecture, segmentation, lifecycle, pricing, product range, and store layout.
- Product creation planning: Plan, brief, and manage the product creation process with the creation team to deliver price-value-competitive products.
- Business planning management: Manage seasonal sell-in, product range plans, and sell-in margin to achieve sell-out and other financial targets.
- Track business performance through DNA and MicroStrategy and manage systems and files including Master Range File, HUB, DMT, and RMA.
- Cross-BU collaboration: Provide input into category strategies and seasonal ranging, identify segmentation and exclusivity opportunities, and differentiate offerings.
- Cross-functional communication and alignment: Align seasonal strategy and assortment with sales, channels, GCA, and Global teams.
Key Relationships
GCA BU team, GCA PP&O team, Creation Center Shanghai, OMB team, Future City Sales, Product Sales, Factory Outlet Operation, and E-commerce Operation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Expert understanding of the China market, consumers, and commercial needs, particularly in apparel.
- Strong presentation, communication, negotiation, influencing, data analysis, and stakeholder management skills.
- Successful track record and advanced category management and merchandising knowledge in the sports apparel industry.
- Positive, organized, solution-oriented work ethic with strong integrity and attention to detail.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in range management or product management.
- Regional experience preferred.
- University degree in business or equivalent professional experience.
- Sporting goods industry experience required.
- Fluent in English.
- Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Passion for sports and belief that sports can change lives.
- Willingness to travel 20–30% of the time.
